The Distinguished Classical Excellence LIVE! Awards Presentation and Concert celebrates the exceptional contributions of Black classical musicians, educators, and leaders who have paved the way for future generations. Now in its third year, the Javacya Arts Conservatory proudly hosts an evening dedicated to honoring artistic excellence, inspiring the next generation, and advancing the profound legacy of Black classical artistry.

Join us for the Ultimate Celebration of Love, Life, and Artistry over Valentine's Day Weekend! The Distinguished Awards is a national, three-day destination event dedicated to recognizing visionary Black classical artists and educators who are shaping the future of culture. To properly honor their legacy, we present a breathtaking, Grammy-style tribute concert that breaks traditional musical boundaries.

Experience an electrifying, multi-genre spectacular as the unapologetic energy of the Tallahassee Nights Live Band and Singers merges with the symphonic brilliance of the 24 Karat Gold Symphony and the Javacya Elite Chamber Orchestra. By blending elite classical masterpieces with the powerful rhythms of R&B, Gospel, and Pop, we promise a breathtaking soundtrack and a Valentine's celebration you will never forget.

The Javacya Elite is the conservatory’s advanced ensemble, founded on the principle of mentorship. Advanced students rehearse alongside professional players and conservatory faculty, working on the same music together. This hands-on experience allows young musicians to learn what a professional standard sounds like by immersing themselves in it, rather than merely observing from the audience. Many of the performers on that stage grew up in Javacya’s youth programs, and several now coach the students seated alongside them. This mentorship is the essence of the ensemble.
